07/29/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 7/27/17- Observed Behavior: growling, allows exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/27/17 Curled up in cubby behind litter box, tense, eyes dilated. Sniffed assess-a-hand, started eating offered treats. Tolerated head pets, then hissed and lip licked when pet along body, but continued eating. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Adriane remains tense, crouched position hiding at the back of the cubby with head up. Reaction to cage door opening: Adriane body stiffens with tail tightly curled on to side of the body, intense gaze at the assessor, alert with eyes dilated. Reaction to touch: Adriane growls and hisses at the assesor’s hand, but accepts a brief touch on the head then quickly sits up and attemtpts to paw, raising her front leg. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Adriane may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
