12/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Addison was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies in her previous home. Her finder reports she does not like being picked up and will run and hide. The medical team reports she displayed distance-increasing behaviors during her initial medical exam and attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Addison was curled up by the back, neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Addison averts her gaze, but would look at the assessor after with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Addison remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Addison sniffs the assessor’s hand, but remains immobile when touched. She appeared mostly indifferent to contact, placing her head back down and lip licks during the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Addison tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
