ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet, Affectionate KNOWN HISTORY: Abby was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. During Intake: Abby was receptive to handling and allowed collaring. She arrived with a relaxed body, dilated eyes and ears forward. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 8/28/17- Subjective: Alert, allows all handling, very relaxed, very friendly! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Abby immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Abby remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Abby head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Abby interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.

Front feet – many embedded nails. Left front foot: digits 3 and 5 are embedded in the pads. Digits 2 and 4 are curled around but not embedded. Right front foot: all nails are long and curled around, but only digit 2 is embedded in the pad. Nails trimmed – pads bleeding, moderate swelling. CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: 1. Embedded nails – trimmed, wounds on paw pads 2. Matted fur 3. Possibly in heat Plan: 1.
