Reaction to cage door opening: Abby gets up and greets the assessor by the opening.
Reaction to touch: Abby head-butts, rubs her cheeks against the assessor, and begins to purr. She twirls around in a circle and is very affectionate.
Reaction to pick up: Abby becomes tense (may be due to girth), but remains calm when held.

Abby interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

As per previous owner, Abby hasn’t been around people she doesn’t know. She plays alone and is fearful of children. She has been around other cats and is respectful but when playing came be somewhat rough. Abby is described as being friendly with a medium activity level. She like to play with balls and chasing toys.

Abby is a 6 year old female Brown Tabby. She was given to her owner as a gift and has been in their care for 6 years. She is being surrendered into our center due to owners household having allergies. There are no known health injuries or concerns.
Around hasn’t been around people she doesn’t know all have been familiar. She plays alone and is fearful of children and doesn’t play. She has been around other cats and is respectful but when playing came be somewhat rough. There is no known history of her biting another animal or person.
Abby at times escapes the home. During car rides she is afraid. There is no known history of her having litter box accidents. She struggles when getting a bath and has never had her nails trimmed nor her coat brushed. She will struggle when being picked up and held and being placed in a carrier. She isn’t bothered when disturbed while sleeping.
Abby is described as being friendly with a medium activity level. She like to play with balls and chasing toys. She was mostly indoors and slept on the rug. She was free fed dry food. She is litter box trained using an uncovered box with clay litter. She has a scratching post made of smooth wood and cardboard.
