***SAFE 09/04/16***PENELOPE AND HER PURRFECT BROOD ARE IN PERIL AND NEED YOU! Sad sigh! Once again we have a highly adoptable young cat named Penelope and her equally friendly and adoptable kittens–just three of who are listed tonight–Cecil, Melissa and Bosko. They are all adorable, affectionate, easy to handle and despite having URI’s which are easily treatable–along with an EXCELLENT PROGNOSIS, their precious lives are in danger. We don’ t know what possesses a person to scoop up adorable and sweet kitties and bring them to a kill happy shelter in the midst of kitten season–a recipe for disaster. The ACC has been on a roll this week–killing adorable and adoptable kittens and we know they will not hesitate to euthanize this beautiful bunch when tomorrow afternoon rolls around, either. Penelope and her babies are in dire need of their rescue angel. Once again, these are adoptable babies who are already old enough to be brought to adoption events. Can you be the kind purrson to offer them temporary (or purrmanent) safe haven? We would love to help you through the process so email our help desk and we will help you be this family’s hero–[email protected] There is no greater reward than when the rescue van rolls up, that cardboard box of precious lives are handed to you and then you open that box and out pops incredible kitties–who would no longer be alive if not for YOU. But you must act now because this fab feline family only has tonight. Be a hero. Save a life and make a difference by making the call for Penelope and her purrfect brood NOW!!!

08/23/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Penelope was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Penelope was curled up at the back of the kennel with her body lowered. Reaction when softly spoken to: Penelope was alert and watches the assessor with wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Penelope remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Penelope stays in place and allows petting all over her body. She’s wary of her surroundings, lip licks then moves away from contact. Her body slowly relaxes and she appreciates contact but doesn’t come forward or solicit attention. Reaction to being picked up: Penelope has a tense body, looks out at her surroundings and doesn’t mind being held. Behavior Determination: Experience Penelope may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
